    CICS, and not for EXEC SQL).

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Enterprise COBOL compiling programs *
    * that contain CICS statements and using the *
    *                 CICS compiler option.                        *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The compiler listing has extraneous *
    * characters >> at the beginning of each *
    *                      line with END-EXEC                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF and recompile *
    ****************************************************************
    In some cases the compiler has to add a 'continue' in the
    generated COBOL for CICS statements and this caused problems
    in some cases due to a flag setting.

Problem conclusion

  • The compiler was changed to reset the flag after it added the
    'continue' statement, so no more >> on lines with END-EXEC
