Error description

  • Averaging of connection duration values when using the stuck
    connection function was change from an object array to an array
    list that prevented duration values from being replace.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The averaging of duration times was     *
    *                      using more values then expected causing *
    *                      the averaged value to be less           *
    *                      responsive                              *
    *                      to changes.                             *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The averaging of duration times is configurable to use x number
    of values.   Since more values were being used to calculate the
    average, when the duration times changed, it take longer to
    detect the database is slowing down or stuck.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The averaging of duration times is now using the configured
    value.
    
    The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
    9.0.5.19. For more information, see 'Recommended Updates for
