Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Enterprise COBOL 6.4 compiling      *
  *                 programs at OPT(1|2) and containing at       *
  *                 least two MOVE statements where the senders  *
  *                 are smaller than the receivers, the first    *
  *                 MOVE is either not a reference modification  *
  *                 or is a reference modification where the     *
  *                 start and length are literals, and at least  *
  *                 one of the start and length in the second    *
  *                 MOVE are data items.                         *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An LHI instruction generated for the    *
  *                      second MOVE has the line number of the  *
  *                      first MOVE statement.                   *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF                       *

  Generation of the LHI Instruction in the first MOVE statement
  is postponed to the second MOVE statement, leading to a
  different line number assigned to the instruction.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was fixed to update the line number in above case.
