    ****************************************************************
This APAR fixes the following issues of IMS Online
    Reorganization Facility.
    1. Storage shortage may occur during ORF execution when DBDs
containing large amounts of metadata are used in an
       IMS-managed ACB environment.
The IMS catalog API (DFS3CATQ) loads DBDs with large amounts
of metadata below the 16MB line in an IMS managed ACB
       environment, resulting in storage shortages.
Code has been changed to specify the new DFS3CATQ parameter
EXTATTR=NONE, as provided in IMS APAR PH39492.
If EXTATTR=NONE is specified, DBDs without metadata will be
       loaded.

    2. ORF can occasionally get ABENDS878-10 with GETMAIN processing
of buffers when IMSDALIB DD is specified in ORF step.
A lot of buffers are allocated below 16M when opening
IMSDALIB DD. Code has been changed to reduce number of
       buffers for IMSDALIB.

    3. ORF can occasionally get ABENDS878-10 with GETMAIN processing
of buffers when the all following conditions are met.
        1) BMP application updates the database in the Copy phase.
        2) IMS OSAM database
        3) DBDS block size is large.
Code has been changed to reduce number of database buffers
when updating OSAM database in the Copy phase.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been changed to fix the issues described in this APAR.
