PH57328: CALL "Java..." interface code gets MSGIGYGR1056-E "VALUE" literal length exceeded due to bad literal continuation

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The JAVAIOP method call interface code generated by cjbuild
  contains a reference to the fully qualified package name of the
  method to be called, which may not fit on a single line,
  thus requiring continuation. A space was incorrectly left in
  column 72, and became part of the value literal, causing it to
  exceed the length of the definition.
  

Local fix

• Manually fix and recompile the generated code.

  Occasionally, a literal followed by other characters in a
  compiler-generated stub program might end on exactly column 72.
  In such cases, the compiler was splitting the literal
  unnecessarily across lines, causing an extra space to be added
  to the literal.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was updated to ensure that literals are not
  unnecessarily split across lines in compiler-generated stub
  programs.
