APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After replacement of a GM disk subsystem, an attempt to
establish paths to the new disk subsystem fails with a ANTP0004E
message indicating an SSID mismatch. This is caused by the old
disk subsystem World Wide Node Name (WWNN) being used by GDPS
    for the new disk subsystem.

Local fix

  • Recycle the Kg and/or Kr NetView depending on if it is a primary
disk subsystem (the Kg), secondary disk subsystem (the Kr) or
X-disk disk subsystem (the Kr) and then do a GDPS DASD config.
In an MGM 4-site environment this must also be done on the Kg/Kr
pair handling the reverse direction (note that Kg and Kr are in
this case the reverse of the active direction).

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ANTP0004E SEC SSID mismatch on CESTPATH *
    * after disk subsystem replacement *
    ****************************************************************
A query to find the World Wide Node Name (WWNN) of a storage
subsystem during GDPS DASD configuration may use stale data and
receive outdated/invalid information. An example is when
a disk subsystem is replaced, and the same utility device is
reused. The old storage subsystem WWNN will then be used instead
of the correct one. Subsequent attempts to establish a PPRC path
will then use the incorrect WWNN and fail.

Problem conclusion

  • This PTF corrects the reported problems.

    MULTIPLE SYSTEM CONSIDERATIONS:

The PTF must be installed on both Kg and Kr systems for the fix
    to be fully effective.

    RECOMMENDED ACTIONS

A DASD config is needed if the "incorrect WWNN" problem has not
been corrected prior to applying the PTF. For an MGM 4-site
environment this can be done individually per Kg/Kr pair once
the PTF is applied to both.
