Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IBM z/OS Change Tracker users using or * * planning to use z/OSMF. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. Unable to do data set compare in the * * z/OSMF plug-in. * * 2. Unable to specify an ACCTNUM * * for address spaces spawned by the * * z/OSMF plug-in. * * 3. REMOTEGROUPCOMP is slow when * * comparing a large number of data * * sets. * * 4. S913 abend during volume compare. * * 5. PROTECT with INITIAL=Y command never * * completes. * * 6. The z/OSMF plug-in does not use the * * logon procedure defined in IZUPRMxx. * * 7. Member recovery into specified * * data set fails in the z/OSMF * * plug-in. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. * **************************************************************** 1. This PTF adds support for the data set compare functionality to the IBM z/OS Change Tracker z/OSMF plug-in. 2. Users whose site policies prevent them from using the default z/OSMF account IZUACCT were unable to choose a different ACCTNUM in the plug-in. 3. The REMOTEGROUPCOMP command takes a very long time to compare a large number of data sets. 4. An S913 abend occurs during volume compare if the job does not have READ access to a data set. 5. The PROTECT command with INITIAL=Y does not complete when the data set has a large member. 6. The plug-in attempts to use the logon proc IZUFPROC, instead of the proc specified in IZUPRMxx. 7. The plug-in incorrectly specifies the volume when recovering a member into another data set.
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
Comments
1. The IBM z/OS Change Tracker z/OSMF plug-in now supports data set compare. 2. A different ACCTNUM can now be specified in the plug-in for each z/OSMF user. 3. Performance of the REMOTEGROUPCOMP command has been improved. 4. Volume compare now skips any data sets for which read access is not available. 5. The PROTECT command with INITIAL=Y now completes successfully when the data set has a large member. 6. The plug-in will now use the logon proc specified in the IZUPRMxx member when creating TSO address spaces. 7. The plug-in will now defer to the system to locate the specified data set in the catalog. Recovery into uncataloged data sets is not supported.
