Error description

  • A connection to a QMGR is tracked in an internal control block
called the ASCE. When the ASCELRUN flag is set, this indicates
that the address space is long running. The design behind long
running ASCE is that they won't be disconnected when the last
task disconnects from the QMGR, instead disconnection is
deferred until the jobstep task goes through end of task. The
cause of the issue here is the jobstep task never connected to
the QMGR for a long running ASCE, then the ASCE is not cleaned
up during end of task for the jobstep TCB. This problem is a
regression caused by PSIRT APAR PH50324
search keyword ( complete RSN value 00F30905 )

    ****************************************************************
During End of Task processing for the job step task of an
address space marked as 'long running' in MQ, CSQ3SSI1
incorrectly determined that there was no MQ processing required
and ignored the broadcast due to an error in PH50324.
This resulted in the expected cleanup of the MQ ASCE control
block for the address space being skipped, leading to subsequent
processing driving Memterm for the address space.

Problem conclusion

  • CSQ3SSI1 is changed to correctly process the EOT broadcast in
the affected situation, ensuring the ASCE is cleaned up and
preventing the unexpected Memterm of the address space.
