APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • PLICKPT allocates a work area from the BELOWHEAP that appears to
be too short for subsequent use, corrupting heap accounting
information. A subsequent call to PLICKPT (or really any
allocation from the BELOWHEAP) can run afoul of this.

Depending on BELOWHEAP use by the application, and the
application environment as a whole, the problem may not be
    discovered.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When PLICKPT is called more than once *
    * there may result an abend0C6 due to *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
This APAR fixes the storage overlay issue for Enterprise PL/I
runtime when calling PLICKPT built-in function more than once
    in the same program.

Problem conclusion

  • When the PLICKPT built-in function is called multiple times,
the PLICKPT built-in function may cause an abend0C6 because
of the storage being overwritten when writing to the
    Checkpoint restart data set.
