Error description

• If users of the administrative console want to modify the consol
  identity, they may run into issues when truncating the identity
  string or previewing the changes.

  If users wanted to truncate the console identity string by a
  specific number of characters, the "..." would be incorrectly
  included in the count of characters. For example if your console
  identity string was "MainUser" and you set the "Truncate string
  at (Characters):" field to 5, the console would display "Ma..."
  instead of "MainU...".
  Also, if the user wanted to preview the page when the "Console
  identity:" option was set to "none" the user had to delete the
  contents of the "Custom identity string:" field before being
  able to see the preview for the "none" setting.
  

Problem conclusion

• Both issues have been addressed in the console identity page.
  Users can truncate the custom identity string and the console
  will not include the "..." in the count. Users can now see the
  page preview when the "Console identity:" field is set to
  "none".
  
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
