Error description

  • Starting the OSGI JVM server with an invalid path to a bundle
    in the JVMProfile can result in the following message:

    DFHSJ1004 date time applid userid An exception has been thrown
    by the route method of class com/ibm/cics/router/Router running
    in JVMSERVER MYSERVER. Exception 'CICSRouterController not
    available after 90000 milliseconds'.

    This message indicates the controller timeout was set to 90000
    milliseconds but the DFHSJ1004 message was issued earlier, less
    than 3000 milliseconds after CICS was started. This message is
    misleading there as it did not take the full 90000 milliseconds
    to wait for the controller to become available.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If an OSGI JVM server fails to start *
    * due to a missing file or other error, *
    *                      a misleading DFHSJ1004 message will be  *
    *                      issued.                                 *
    ****************************************************************
    Starting an OSGI JVM server with an invalid path to a bundle
    in the JVMProfile, or some other error condition that prevents
    startup, can result in message DFHSJ1004 indicating that the
    controller timeout has elapsed.This message is incorrectly
    issued due to the earlier error in startup prior to the timeout
    elapsing.

    The messages that indicate the reason for the start up failure
    are likely to be seen in STDERR (dfhjvmerr).

Problem conclusion

  • CICS code has been changed to issue a message directing the user
    to the STDERR (dfhjvmerr) file.
