PH54692: SQLCODE = -750 WHEN ADDING A TABLE COLUMN AND RENAMING A TABLE COLUMN REFERENCED BY A VIEW

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If there is a view with correlated column names and a new column
  is added to the referenced table while also renaming a column
  from the same table, the order of change statements are
  incorrect. For the table, the adding of the new column and
  renaming of an existing column happens before the dropping of
  the view which results in the SQLCODE = -750. The DROP VIEW
  statement should happen first.

  When using either Object Compare or ALT and renaming and adding
  a column to a table referenced by a view with correlated column
  names, the change statements are out of order. The ALTER TABLE
  statements execute first before the DROP VIEW statements, which
  results in SQLCODE = -750.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved.
  The DROP VIEW statements will properly execute first before
  the ALTER TABLE statements.
