PH54206: CAST AS NVARCHAR IN COGNOS SQL IN FM CAUSES SPLIT SQL FOR JOINEDTABLES

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When cast([column], NVARCHAR(10000)) as Alias_Name is used in
  custom Cognos SQL in a data source query subject in FM on a Text
  field (blob data type), and that table is joined to another
  table, a resulting query between the two tables will split the
  SQL and thereby cause local processing. This is causing the
  client significant performance issue. This worked in DQM in
  Cognos 10. Client requires NVARCHAR for Unicode characters.
