Error description

  • This APAR introduces a new approach to table versioning
handling. Instead of relying on an external TVFILE, the tool now
uses an internal Db2 table to store and manage table versioning
entries. The "Track schema changes" job will store versioning
entries to the table automatically as well as a regular batch
process of updating from table space / image copy processing.
New ISPF panels are introduced in this APAR. The "Utilities"
panel now has option 3 as "Table Versioning Support", which
invokes the corresponding panel. The new panel incorporates all
actions regarding table versioning support: interface to delete
and view particular versioning entries; running track schema
changes job; importing and exporting versioning entries from the
old TVFILE; interface for manual addition of entries.

It is required to create a new internal Db2 table to manage
table versioning entries after applying the PTF, refer to the
HOLD actions for a detailed explanation of migration steps.
