Error description

• The following error occurs when installing a webservices
  application:
  
  WSWS7027E: JAX-WS Service Descriptions could not be correctly
  built because of the following error:
  javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: WSWS7054E: The Web Services
  Description Language (WSDL) file could not be
  generated for the com.xyz.dept.abc.LegacyTestWebService
  Webservice implementation class because of the following error:
  java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
  javax.ws.rs.WebApplicationException
  at com.ibm.ws.websvcs.wsdl.WASWSDLGenerator.generateWsdl(WASWSD
  LGenerator.java:299)
  ...
  Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
  javax.ws.rs.WebApplicationException

  The deployment of a web services application may fail with the
  following exception:
  javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: WSWS7054E: The Web Services
  Description Language (WSDL) file could not be
  generated for the com.xyz.dept.abc.LegacyTestWebService Web
  service implementation class because of the following error:
  java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
  javax.ws.rs.WebApplicationException at
  com.ibm.ws.websvcs.wsdl.WASWSDLGenerator.generateWsdl(WASWSDLGen

Problem conclusion

• This problem occurred because the classloader that was used
  for generating the WSDL using the wsgen command could not find
  the javax.ws.rs.WebApplicationException class. The problem was
  fixed by adding the jar javax.j2ee.jaxrs.jar to the classpath
  for wsgen.
  
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
  8.5.5.24.
