Error description
In Interop environments using Unix views, the changes to prevent async license checkouts from failing in cases where the requester is in a different domain than the albd account can cause 2 ClearCase licenses to be checked out per user. If a user "ccuser" exists on both Windows and unix, and the Unix user name format is not IDENTICAL to the windows domain qualified name, use of a Unix hosted view can cause 2 ClearCase (and by extension MultiSite) licenses to be checked out. License usage reports will show something similar to the below: Users of TLSTOK: (Total of 100 licenses issued; Total of 10 licenses in use) "TLSTOK" v2.0, vendor: ibmratl, expiry: 31-mar-2023 floating license prod\ccuser MYWINHOST MYWINHOST ClearCase (v2.0) (licsvr/27000 103), start Wed 2/8 14:06, 5 licenses (linger: 1142 / 1800) ccuser unixhost /dev/pts/1 ClearCase (v2.0) (licsvr/27000 302), start Wed 2/8 14:16, 5 licenses (linger: 1764 / 1800) Any other functionality that depends on user name -- for example options-file-based license access lists -- will also be effected by this issue.
Local fix
None. If using user-based license access control, both the domain\user and user formats will need to be in the access list.
