Problem summary

• Users Affected:
  IBM Transformation Extender users using UNIQUE when it operates
  on a series which was produced by a series-producing function
  and the type of the elements of the series is a group type
  
  Problem Description:
  At times, when the UNIQUE function operated on the output of a
  series-producing function such as EXTRACT and the type tree type
  of the elements of the series was a group type, only the first
  element of the input series would be present in the output of
  UNIQUE.

Problem conclusion

• When UNIQUE operated on the output of a series-producing
  function, it was implicitly assumed that the type tree type of
  the elements of the series was an item type. When the type was a
   group type, this assumption could allow an incorrect comparison
   function to be used to determine the unique elements of the
  input series. In this case, the choice of comparison function
  depended on unrelated details of map compilation. The logic of
  UNIQUE for handling an input series from a series-producing
  function was corrected to properly handle group types.
