PH52381: ISSUES WHEN RESOLVE RECOVER/REBUILD PENDING OBJECTS IS ENABLED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If you set the Resolve Recover/Rebuild Pending Objects field
  to Y in the Restore Options, Log Restore job will generate
  Recover/Rebuild Pending Member. A number of issues are possible
  when this option is enabled:
  1. Recover/Rebuild Pending Member can contain more than 255
  steps that leads to JCL error. As a workaround, the
  OBJECTS_PER_STEP parameter can be changed to 0. It means that
  all objects will be in one step. Or it can be increased up to 99
  objects per step.
  2. System Recover Pending/Rebuild Pending Report contains
  duplicated rows that leads to recovering one space twice.
  3. System Recover Pending/Rebuild Pending Report doesn't contain
  all objects. As a result, part of objects won't be
  recovered/rebuilded when it is required.
