APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When starting a transaction which is defined Dynamic=YES with
    INTERVAL and REQID, a subsequent EXEC CICS INQ REQID shows in
    the TRANSID output field the transaction ID 'CDFS' and not the
    started user transaction.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An application program issues an *
    * EXEC CICS START with a time interval *
    * and REQID for a transaction defined *
    *                      with DYNAMIC(YES).                      *
    * A subsequent EXEC CICS INQUIRE REQID *
    *                      returns TRANSID('CDFS') rather than     *
    * the expected user transaction. *
    ****************************************************************
    The transaction was defined as DYNAMIC(YES) and started with an
    interval causing DFHICP to treat the START as "deferred" when
    building the ICE. It moved the real transid into field ICEDFTRN,
    and put the deferred start transid 'CDFS' into field ICETRNID.

    DFHEIQRQ processed the INQUIRE REQID command but did not
    check for deferred dynamic transactions. It returned the
    contents of ICETRNID that contained 'CDFS'.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEIQRQ has been changed so that when a transaction is
    defined with DYNAMIC(YES), an INQUIRE REQID command should
    return the 4-character transaction identifier specified in the
    TRANSID option of the START command that created the request.
