APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • It may be noted that when using the RANDDATA() function in an
IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) map on a group level type tree
object, the map will successfully build, but the execution
environment (Design Studio, Command Server, Launcher, etc) will
crash on map execution.

The RANDDATA() function is not designed to be used on the group
level, but this is not detected during the map compile phase.

Circumvention: Do NOT use the RANDDATA() function in anything
other than a text item type tree object.

RANDDATA() function crashes execution engine when used at the
group level.

Problem conclusion

  • Assigned group value is not correct and none is return.

Applies to:

Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
