  *                 statements with a zoned decimal receiver.    *

  In Enterprise COBOL 6.4, a more comprehensive form of
  compatibility with pre-V5 compilers for zoned to zoned moves
  involving invalid data is supported. Unfortunately, this
  expanded support had an unexpected interaction with the new
  INVDATA option, which was a new feature introduced in the 6.3
  service line and which also introduced a new type of
  compatibility with pre-V5 compilers in the form of the
  NOCLEANSIGN suboption.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was updated to fix the problematic interaction
  between the two types of invalid data compatibility with the
  pre-V5 compilers. It should be noted, however, that even though
  the problem resulted from code for supporting improved
  compatibility with pre-V5 compilers for MOVE statements
  involving invalid data, the problem introduced can affect MOVE
  statements with valid data as well.
