Error description
Some clients may wish to share one instance of a relational database server between multiple Application Discovery server instances, but whether this is supported and how to accomplish it is not currently documented.
Local fix
A single instance of SQL Server can be used for multiple AD Server instances, as long as the Annotations, Audit, and Cross databases for each AD environment have unique names in all environments, and as long as no project names are duplicated between the multiple AD environments.
Problem summary
Documentation on how to share one relational database server instance with multiple IBM AD installation instances and what restrictions apply were missing from the ADDI Documentation.
Problem conclusion
A single relational database server instance is shareable between multiple IBM AD installations, given the naming considerations that are now mentioned in the documentation at e.g. https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/addi/6.1.1?topic=configurations-micr osoft-sql-server
