Error description

  • When using GEN command via the tool itself or batch using the
ADB2GEN program, error code IKJ56641I SYSTEM ABEND CODE 0C4
REASON CODE 00000004 occurs and the batch job abends after that.
 This is related to one of the options used, related to DB2
defaults handling. When the option DEFAULTS = 'R' is used then
abend is present, if changed back to default DEFAULTS = 'K' then
 there is no issue and job runs fine. The problem is in module
ADB2REG where it references SYSDATABASE.BPOOL but the DB record
was not generated and the sysdatabase_pt (pointer) is therefore
NULL. - which is causing the error.

The ADB2GEN program is attempting to reference the BPOOL
column in the SYSDATABASE catalog table. However, because
the database was explicitly created, the DB record was not
generated and no SYSDATABASE record was found, which
caused the error.
