APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the COPYLOC(library,...) compiler option is used without a
library ddname definition being present, an IEC130I library DD
STATEMENT MISSING message is generated for each COPY member [OF
    library] statement.

(library is implicitly SYSLIB if omitted.)

Local fix

  • Define a SYSLIB/library DD pointing to an empty PDS(E) or
    directory.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the Enterprise COBOL V6.4 *
    * compiler who are compiling programs with one *
    * or more COPYLOC options specified, but do *
    * not include //SYSLIB DD or any other DD *
    * statements in their compiler JCL for copy *
    *                 book data sets.                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Although the source program compiles *
    * successfully, warning messages such as *
    *                      "IEC130I SYSLIB DD STATEMENT MISSING"   *
    * may appear in the joblog for every COPY *
    * statement in the COBOL source program. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the IBM provided PTF *
    ****************************************************************
The compiler was not checking if data sets referenced in COPYLOC
statements were also included on DD statements in the compiler
JCL. When an OPEN is issued against the DD name specified in a
COPYLOC statement and the DD name was not included in the
compiler JCL, it has not been allocated and the failed OPEN
causes the system to issue messages such as "IEC130I SYSLIB DD
    STATEMENT MISSING".

Problem conclusion

  • The compiler has been changed so that it now checks if a DD name
specified in a COPYLOC compiler option has been previously
allocated, meaning that there was a DD name statement for it in
the compiler JCL, before it attempts to OPEN the DD name. This
prevents the system from issuing confusing messages such as
    "IEC130I SYSLIB DD STATEMENT MISSING".
