PH48623: WRONG TABLESPACE NAME USED AT START COMMAND

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When a column is changed from NOT NULL to NULLS ALLOWED using an
  Admin Tool change, the affected table is in an implicitly
  created tablespace. Since the table has to be dropped and
  recreated, the name of the tablespace changes. However, the old
  name is used for the START command. As the tablespace is newly
  created, the START command is unnecessary in this case, because
  the tablespace already has R/W status.

  The user is using ALT to alter a column in an implicit table.
  The resulting change is to drop and re-create the table.
  However, the change issues START DATABASE on the dropped
  implicit table space, and Db2 returns an error message that the
  table space does not exist.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved.
