Problem summary

  *                      defined as a compilation variable.      *
  *                      A value of 1 was assumed for the        *

  The compiler was incorrectly processing an error resulting from
  a reference to an undefined compilation variable in a DEFINE
  directive, even though the directive appeared in the false
  branch of a conditional compilation directive.
