Modifying the report in a way that makes the MDX simpler brings back the expected results. There is SSAS article for the ODBO error: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/sql/analysis-servi ces/error-mdx-query-fails-ssas-multidimensional-instance The recommendation is to remove calculations. This would be considered a SSAS issue.
