PH47699: MISSING REBUILD CAUSING ERROR ON CHECK DATA STATEMENT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Due to a missing REBUILD statement, the run of the WSL fails on
  the CHECK DATA statement. There needs to be an inline REBUILD
  before the CHECK DATA statement is processed.

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After Object Compare alters the data    *
  *                      type of a column, the CHECK DATA        *
  *                      utility fails, because indexes are in   *
  *                      REBUILD-pending status.                 *

  When a comparison leaves indexes in REBUILD-pending status due
  to altering the data type of a column
  (the SET DATA TYPE clause), those indexes need to be rebuilt
  before any subsequent CHECK DATA operation. Currently, CHECK
  DATA fails due to missing REBUILD operations. Object Compare
  needs to generate REBUILD INDEX utility statements for any
  indexes in REBUILD-pending status due to ALTER TABLE SET DATA
  TYPE statements, so that CHECK DATA can then run successfully.
