PH45854: POSSIBLE DATA LOSS DURING INCREMENTAL UPDATES USING IBM INTEGRATED SYNCHRONIZATION WITH DB2 13 FOR Z/OS

Error description

• A new field controlling enhanced filtering of log records is not
  correctly initialized which may cause all data update log
  records to be missed by a log reading task started for
  incremental updates to IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator or to IBM
  Db2 for z/OS Data Gate when connecting to Db2 13.

  * Possible data loss during incremental                        *
  * updates using IBM Integrated                                 *
  * Synchronization. After enabling                              *
  * replication for a table, no data                             *
  * update records are transferred in some                       *
  * cases.                                                       *
  * In certain conditions IBM Integrated                         *
  * Synchronization writes error messages                        *
  * when attempting to disable query                             *
  * acceleration or setting tables into                          *
  * error that are not replicated or not                         *
  * even accelerated.                                            *

  When incremental updates are enabled, a list of tables to be
  replicated is sent to Db2. In some cases this list is passed
  incorrectly to Db2 and is interpreted as a list including
  partition information. This results in no data update log
  records being returned. In that case no Inserts/Updates/Deletes
  are indicated in the replication statistics, even when running
  for an extended period of time.
  In certain conditions utility and alter log records may be sent
  to the accelerator causing these messages for non replicated
  tables. The DSNX881I messages may contain:
    /W2025/ or /W2027/ Setting table Unknown ...
    /W2045/ During the processing of a utility action ...
    Error while asynchronously reading dbidobidlist for UTLR...

Problem conclusion

• Code has been changed to correctly set the filter list when
  requesting log records for both table updates and alter
  operations.
  Replicated tables should be checked for consistency and
  reloaded in case of mismatches after the PTF for APAR
  PH45854 has been installed.
