APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz), a file can be copied in the
Remote Systems view from uss to local. If the content of the
file cannot be mapped properly during the copy/paste, error
RSEF1002 (Operation failed. File system input or output error)
will be displayed. However, on the local file system a file with
the same name and no content gets generated.

Problem summary


    

  • When transferring a UNIX file from one system to another, if
during the intermediate transfer to the workspace fails due to a
 codepage conversion error, subsequent transfers don't give the
error and transfer a blank file.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The problem is after the initial failure, due to codepage
conversion error, a blank temporary file remains in the
workspace and is treated like a valid cache file.
