PH44038: PARTIAL REPOSITORY QM REPORTS AMQ9456 FOR A QUEUE MANAGER THAT IS NOT IN USE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• On partial repositories CSQX456I is output with an object name
  when an update has not been received from the full repository
  by this partial repository for the cluster object within the
  expected update time period. However the CSQX456I is also output
  for a queue manager object which is no longer in use by
  this partial repository and is expected to expire.

  *                      erroneously report CSQX456I for         *
  *                      remote queue managers.                  *
  ****************************************************************
  The problem was caused by a logic error in APAR PH34265 for IBM
  MQ that caused the reporting of CSQX456I for all Queue Manager
  objects past their expiry time, without consideration of usage
  by applications.
  
  It is expected that objects that are not in use will cease
  receiving updates, and so reporting this condition with an
  CSQX456I message is not required for objects that are no longer
  in use.
  

Problem conclusion

• IBM MQ has been modified to report CSQX456I for the queue
  manager objects only if the object is considered to be in use by
  applications connected to the partial repository.
