PH43820: CONVERSION OF VARCHAR TO CLOB USING DB2 ADMINISTRATION TOOL DOESN'T CLEAR COPY PENDING IN LOB TABLE SPACE

Error description

• When using Db2 Administration Tool to change a column from CHAR
  to CLOB, the LOB table space is still in copy pending after the
  change, even though the user requested image copies to be done.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If a column in a table is changed from  *
  *                      VARCHAR to a CLOB using ALT, the change *
  *                      job created does not do COPY on the     *
  *                      new LOB table space and the table space *
  *                      is left in COPY pending.                *
  ****************************************************************
  ALT command is used to change a column in a table from VARCHAR
  to CLOB.  The change job created has a COPY utility command but
  the COPY is not done on the new LOB table space.  After job is
  run,  the LOB table space has COPY Pending state.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved.
