APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • ATYZ020E Environment discovery failed at registering IMS to IMS
Administration Tool with ATY3004I - DD Name: IMSACB.
    .
The message appears when IMSACB is not found in IMS control
region JCL or MDA library. IMS Administration Tool checks IMSACB
as required data set. However, IMS Administration Tool should
not check it as required because IMSACB is optional to IMS.

Local fix

  • Define "IMSACB" DD statement to IMS control region or create
"IMSACB" DFSMDA TYPE=IMSACB member in MDA library.

    ****************************************************************
ATYZ020E Environment discovery failed at registering IMS to IMS
Administration Tool with ATY3004I - DD Name: IMSACB.

When IMS management of ACBs is not active, IMS Administration
Tool looks for the IMSACB data set name in the following IMS
    resources:
     - IMSACB DD statement in the IMS control region JCL
     - IMSACB member in the MDA library
     - IMSACB DD statement in the OLCUTL member in IMS PROCLIB

If IMSACB is not found, IMS Administration Tool issues the
discover failed message because of assuming that IMSACB is
a required data set. However, IMS Administration Tool should
not check it as required because IMSACB is optional to IMS.

Workaround is defining "IMSACB" DD statement to IMS control
region, creating "IMSACB" DFSMDA TYPE=IMSACB member in MDA
library, or defining "IMSACB" DD statement to OLCUTL JCL in
    IMS PROCLIB.

Problem conclusion

  • IMS Administration Tool has been modified to skip IMSACB
    checking.
