Error description

  • After using the CELQPRLG/CELQEPLG macros to create an LE
conforming AMODE(64) assembler module, a DYNAMic call to the
module from LP(64) compiled COBOL produces the diagnostic
IGZ0174S A dynamic call to {assembler-module} failed because the
    load module is a DLL.

    * RECOMMENDATION: Install the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
When AMODE 64 COBOL programs dynamically call an AMODE 64
assembler program which is neither a DLL application nor
a fetchable program, the following IGZ0174S is emitted.
The message is incorrect and misleading.

IGZ0174S A dynamic call to module-name failed because the load
    module is a DLL.

Instead, the following IGZ0354S should be emitted.

IGZ0354S A dynamic call to program-object-name failed because
the called subprogram is not fetchable.

    COB0603T/K

Problem conclusion

  • The error in the COBOL Runtime has been
    corrected, and IGZ0354S is emitted.
