PH42024: OBJECT COMPARE MAY ATTEMPT TO ADD SECOND TABLE TO UNIVERSAL TABLE SPACE (UTS)

APAR status

Error description

• When the result of a Compare is that a source table will be
  "added," there is no check to see if the parent table space
  is a UTS, or if it already has a table in it.  If the parent
  table space is a UTS and already contains a table, Compare will
  pass, and generate a CREATE TABLE statement that will fail.

Problem summary

  ****************************************************************
  Compare might generate a work statement list (WSL) that creates
  a table in a table space that already contains a table. If that
  table space is a UTS, the CREATE statement fails.
  
  Running the WSL results in the following Db2 error:
  
  DSNT408I SQLCODE = -646, ERROR: TABLE >table_name<
  CANNOT BE CREATED IN OR MOVED TO SPECIFIED TABLE SPACE
  >tablespace_name< BECAUSE IT ALREADY CONTAINS A TABLE.
  
  If compare can determine that this situation will occur, it
  issues message ADB7394 and terminates.  If compare cannot
  determine that this situation will occur but it is a
  possibility, warning message ADB7395 is issued.
