PH39770: FORMATNG ERROR IN OUTPUT OF.CSV REPORTS RAN & SAVED IN CLOUD STORAGE BUCKETS

Error description

  • SUMMARY:
    
    - Running and saving a report in .csv to an external cloud
    bucket, the downloaded .csv report output in the cloud bucket
    isn't readable as a .csv file and has formatting errors.
    
    ENVIRONMENT:
    
    - Tested in 11.1.7 , 11.1.7 FP2 and 11.2
    - Tested cloud data storage environment : Minio Playground
    (Client's Cloud Data Storage environment) & IBM Cloud Object
    Storage
    
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
    
    - Upon clicking the downloaded .CSV format Report in the cloud
    bucket after it being ran & sent through CA, the file should
    open and be readable in standard .CSV
    
    ACTUAL RESULTS:
    
    - Unreadable format & text in the downloaded .csv report output
    in the cloud storage environment
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    
    - Create a storage bucket in an cloud storage object ( Minio &
    IBM Cloud Oject Storage)
    - Create a connection to the created bucket in Cognos via Manage
    --> Storage , and make sure connection is tested successfully
    - Using a sample report, run report as --> run in background
    ---> Under format select CSV --> Under delivery choose save to
    cloud, edit the details and choose your storage connection and
    bucket
    - Run report and make sure it runs successfully
    - Refresh you bucket in your cloud storage and you should see
    the report
    - Download the report and view it. You can see the formatting
    issues
    
    NB : this issue only persists for .CSV reports. Excel, PDF and
    other formats render correctly without any issues in our cloud
    object storage
