Error description

  • Maintenance was applied to the CICSplex environment. It upgraded
CPSM to v5.5 L2106. After applying the maintenance the
    following message is occurring:

EYUWM0403E Workload Manager Task has reported an error
processing event (MAS STOP) for MAS (CICSMAS1)

The exception tracing shows the following:
00139 XCLZ XCLC WMGR CHE EXCP 178 CHGXELEF CPSM
00139 XCLC WMAT WMGR CHE EXCP 19 UPDCLAIF CPSM
00139 WMAT WMEV WMGR WLM EXCP 20 WMATXCLC CPSM
00139 WMEV WMGR WMGR WLM EXCP 11 WMEVWMAT CPSM

We are trying to make a change to an AIX element but it fails
and results in the EYUWM0403E message.

Local fix

  • A COLD start of the plex should resolve the issue

    ****************************************************************
APAR PH19761 introduced the ability for a cache list to utilise
storage across multiple data spaces. To achieve this, a new
cache list implementation was introduced, and used for selected
lists. The implementation for each list is selected when the
list is created. Some lists, such as the WPLX_AOR_LID, used by
WLM, are held in shared data spaces and can persist across a
    CPSM CMAS WARM restart.
In the reported problem, a CMAS was started without the PH19761
PTF applied. That CMAS installed a workload and built the
WPLX_AOR_LID cache list in the WLM data space. Later, the PTF
for PH19761 was applied and the CMAS performed a WARM restart.
That is, one or more MAS regions, or batch CPSM API address
spaces remained active and connected while the CMAS was down.
After the CMAS had started against the updated code, a MAS
terminated. That MAS was defined as a routing region within the
workload. During termination, method WMAT attempted to update
the WPLX_AOR_LID cache list. A logic error caused the CMAS to
assume that this list used the new cache list implementation.
Consequently, the attempt to update the alternate index of the
cache list failed. The CMAS issued message
EYUWM0403E cmasname Workload Manager Task has reported an error
processing event (Mas Stop) for MAS (masname).
The same issue could occur during MAS start up.

Problem conclusion

  • UI74404 UI74405
Method XCLZ (EYU0XCLZ) has been modified to make the correct
assumption if index type is not set. This avoids having to cold
    start the CMAS.
