Error description
IMS Connect Extensions OTMA routing involving a routing list that specifies multiple IMS subsystems in a shared queue group can generate a lot of Tpipes. In a shared queue environment, multiple front-end tpipes (1 for each member) can be created and each of those generates multiple back-end Tpipes (1 for each of the other members). This may consume a lot of virtual storage.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IMS Connect Extensions V3.1 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: OTMA Routing List enhancement. * **************************************************************** IMS Connect Extensions OTMA routing involving a routing list that specifies multiple IMS subsystems in a shared queue group can generate a lot of Tpipes. In a shared queue environment, multiple front-end tpipes (1 for each member) can be created and each of those generates multiple back-end tpipes (1 for each of the other members.) This may consume a lot of virtual storage.
Problem conclusion
OTMA Routing Lists are enhanced to include a new option to always route to the first available datastore in list order. Workload balancing allows IMS Connect Extensions to redirect incoming transaction requests to IMS data stores according to their capacity weight rating (CWR), thereby balancing the transaction workload across multiple IMS systems and ensuring both availability and responsiveness for the remote client. If the routing list definition has the "use first" option.active then workload balancing is not used. The one exception to this is if the datastore has a CWR=0 in which case it is considered to be unavailable.
