Error description
The HOLD ACTION for APAR/PTF PH32514/UI73305 is incorrect It should read Step#1: set the "Enable RESTART mode (VUU090/RSTENABL)" parmlib parameter to the desired value (YES/NO). Be aware that setting it to YES requires the other parameters related to the RESTART feature, i.e the. " RESTART dataset template (VUU091/RSTTMPL)" and "RESTART dataset unit (VUU092/RSTUNIT)" parmlib parameters, be set relevantly. Enabling the RESTART feature by default does not require any change in the Db2 HPU steps, However, all the jobs will issue messages related to the RESTART feature and some of them - i.e. the eligible steps - will allocate a new dataset named RESTART dataset but the return code from the jobs will not change unless the RESTART dataset cannot be allocated as needed. Set the "Enable RESTART mode (VUU090/RSTENABL)" parmlib parameter to NO or keep the default value if you want that the behavior of your existing Db2 HPU jobs do not change at all. This does not prevent you to take benefit of the RESTART feature for some Db2 HPU steps by specifying the RESTART option in the PARM attribute of the Db2 HPU EXEC statement. Step#2: generate the customization jobs. Step#3: submit the INZTVAR customization job to activate PH29757.
