Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server Load Balancer * * users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using RoCE Converged Network card * * on AIX systems with the load * * balancer, the system can crash. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A crash can occur when using the load balancer on AIX with the RoCE converged network adapter. The crash occurs when the load balancer is responding to an arp request for a defined cluster or return address. If the load balancer is configured with LB_PROMISCOUS, this crash will not occur. LB_PROMISCOUS instructions are provided in apar PI84915.
Problem conclusion
The crash occurs because available kernel stack space is consumed by the network driver and the load balancer executor module. Code has been corrected to reduce stack space usage by the load balancer. Fix levels: 8.5.5.20 9.0.5.9
