Error description

  • A CSR is created with an extra information in the SAN field.
As a result, some Certificate Authority (CA) who requires the
CSR extension field to be empty does not accept the CSR.

Some certificate authorities require the CSR extensions field
to be empty. However WebSphere is adding the product specific
information in the email field. As a result, the CA does not
accept the CSR.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The code has been updated so that WebSphere adds information to
the CSR extension only when user specifies to.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
8.5.5.20 and 9.0.5.9. For more information, see 'Recommended
