APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • 1 - For BUFFERPOOL change for INDEX within the same range, a
REORG should not be needed. However the REORG is generated.

2 - When an INDEX bufferpool and its page size is changed ,
choosing 'M' during creating a COMPARE Job , doesn't generate
inline REORG and causing the indexes to be in ADVISORY REORG
PENDING STATE.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A buffer pool change for an index       *
*                      within the same range results in an     *
*                      unnecessary REORG utility operation.    *
****************************************************************
When altering an index buffer pool to another buffer pool with
the same size, unnecessary REORG operations are generated.
Db2 Admin Tool should not generate REORG statements when
altering buffer pools for indexes within the same range. It
should however generate REORG statements for buffer pool changes
with differing ranges.
