APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • QM can leak some memory when long running threads are still
running after the QM deactivate function is issued against
a QM subsystem, CQM12* messages maybe issued and CQM will
not collect metrics until the next interval.

Local fix

  • Periodically recycle QM, as much as once a week in very busy Db2
    environments.

    ****************************************************************
Query Monitor can leak some memory when long running threads
are still running after the Query Monitor deactivate function
is issued against a Query Monitor subsystem.
CQM12* messages maybe issued in such case and Query Monitor will
not collect metrics until the next interval.

Problem conclusion

  • Logic was changed to correct memory release when Query Monitor
subsystem was deactivated but some threads were still running.
