PH34909: OBJECT COMPARE REPORT ISSUES DUPLICATE TABLESPACE PCTFREE CHANGED MESSAGES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When Object Compare changes the PCTFREE attribute of a PBG
  tablespace from NULL to a number, the Object Comparison Report
  may present the following messages:
  
  
  
  (A)Field PCTFREE changed from NULL to 10
  
  (A)Field PCTFREE changed from 0 to 10
  
  PCTFREE value from table space level is propagated to every
  partition.
  
  
  The second message inaccurately duplicates the first, and is
  removed by this APAR.
  
  This APAR will also ensure that the third message appears only
  when the table space contains more than one partition.

  A change to the PCTFREE attribute of a partition-by-growth
  table space results in a duplicate PCTFREE change in the compare
  report. The correct PCTFREE change is from NULL to 10. The
  following example shows lines from a report comparing table
  spaces that were created prior to Db2 12 and have different
  PCTFREE values:
  
  Compare tablespace source(>database.name<) and
   target(>database.name<)
    (A)Field PCTFREE changed from NULL to 10
    (A)Field PCTFREE changed from 0 to 10
        PCTFREE value from table space level is propagated to
                every partition.
  Tablespace will be altered
  
  Note: In addition, the message about propagation will now appear
  only if the tablespace contains more than one partition.

• The problem has been resolved.
