APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
If the hostname value entered for the ADDI Configuration Server during the installation of ADDI Build Client 5.1.0.9 is greater than 20 characters long, some Java-based compilers such as the CICS CSD compiler will fail when invoked, which may also cause Build Client to crash. Message displayed if Build Client crashes may be the following: " IBM Application Discovery Build Client has stopped working A problem caused by the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. " After selecting the "Close program" button, the Build Client closes.
Local fix
Workaround is to modify CCS_IP Windows registry value to have a (hostname alias, or IPV4 numeric address) value of 20 characters or less. Contact IBM ADDI Support for assistance with implementing this workaround.
Problem summary
Field size for storing hostname or IPV4 address of Configuration Server machine was not large enough to hold some longer, valid hostnames.
Problem conclusion
Code was changed to be large enough to handle maximum allowed hostname value.
