    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    They WebSphere Plugin is set to retry each server of a cluster
    if it gets a 503 response. This can cause the plugin to mark
    each one down.

Problem conclusion

  • The Plugin has been modified to allow for a new property
    called request503Retry that can be set at the Cluster level.
    Setting the property to "-1" will retry the request against all
    members. A "0" will only do the initial request. Any other
    positive number should be no more than the number of cluster
    members to limit how many retries the plugin should attempt.

    To set this property for plugin generation, you will go to the
    admin console Server Types>Clusters>WebSphere application
    server clusters>[your cluster]>Cluster members>[First member]>
    Custom properties.
    Click new and add "PLG.Cluster.request503Retry" and a value
    you want it to use.
