Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    *                  Server                                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CDIEJBManagedObjectFactoryImpl throws *
    *                      exception                               *
    *                      java.lang.IllegalStateException:        *
    *                      Managed Class {package.ExampleClass}    *
    * does not match Bean Class *
    *                      {different.package.ExampleClass}        *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    CDIEJBManagedObjectFactoryImpl acquires a Class by it's name
    alone and thus it can confuse two classes with the same name
    resulting in the follwing
    exception: CDIEJBManagedObjectFactoryImpl throws exception
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: Managed Class
    {package.ExampleClass} does not match Bean Class
    {different.package.ExampleClass}

Problem conclusion

  • This problem was caused by an iterator searching the wrong
    archive first and thus getting the wrong class. Because
    CDIEJBManagedObjectFactoryImpl knew what class it was looking
    for, the search has been reworked so if it finds the wrong
    bean it will continue searching through archives
