Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    *                  Server Liberty                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: environment variables in file names are *
    * not parsed and replaced for *
    *                      featureUtility and installUtility       *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    environment variables in file names are not parsed and replaced
    for featureUtility and installUtility. i.e
    /test/path/${myserver}.xml will not replace myserver with the
    appropriate variable, instead it will return
    /test/path/${myserver}.xml  unchanged

Problem conclusion

  • The featureUtility and installUtility configParser was changed
    to accommodate variable substitution in filenames

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
    pack 21.0.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
