PH31805: ABEND04E 00C90101 DSNICUMW ERQUAL5003 OCCURRED DURING SQL DELETE OR SQL UPDATE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• There were postponed-abort units of recovery running on
  a partitioned table space. After one postponed-abort UR finished
  recovery on one partition, Db2 released the retained page locks
  on the entire table space while there were other postponed-abort
  URs changing different partitions on the same table space and
  they haven't finished recovery yet. This caused other Db2
  members to update the data pages with unfinished changes and
  caused index and data mismatch. ABEND04E RC00C90101
  LOC=DSNIDM DSNICUMW ERQUAL 5003 was issued as a result.

  In a Db2 data sharing system, there were postponed abort URs
  changing a partitioned table space. After one postponed abort
  UR finished recovery on a partition, Db2 released the retained
  page locks on the entire table space while there were other
  postponed abort URs changing other partitions on the same
  table space and those URs haven't finished recovery yet.
  This caused other Db2 members to update the data pages with
  unfinished changes and caused index and data mismatch.
  ABEND04E RC00C90101 LOC=DSNIDM.DSNICUMW ERQUAL5003 was issued
  as a result. There can be other Db2 ABENDs issued as a result
  of this problem. CHECK INDEX utility can also report index and
  data mismatch.
  

Problem conclusion

• Db2 code has been changed so the retained page locks and row
  locks on a partitioned table space are not released until
  all the postponed abort URs changing this table space are
  recovered.
