Error description

  • You are running CICS TS 5.5 with APAR PH25261/PTF UI70135.
    In
DFHMQ0125 dump, see that tasks 111, 222 and 333, all try to do
a SET MQMONITOR(xxxx) STARTED, but are held up waiting for
locks. Task 444 also then attempts SET MQMONITOR for xxxx, and
manages to do so while 111, 222 and 333 are all still in their
    WAITS.
When tasks 222 and 333 resume they both drive the new
logic put in by PH25261 and
    bypass the SET MQMONITOR STARTED
for xxxx, as they see it is no longer required.
    Task 111
however, does NOT follow the PH25261 logic, and tries a SET
MQMONITOR START for xxxx which fails with the exception
    reason(MQMON_IN_USE) RESP=16 RESP2=2, leading to the DFHMQ0125
    message.

    *                      startup of a CICS region using CICS/MQ  *

    ****************************************************************
A CICS region is started and several DFHMQ0125 messages are seen
on the log indicating that a user defined MQMonitor has not been
started successfully, even though the MQMonitor has been
    successfully started.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHMQTM has been updated when starting a MQMonitor to now
acquire an enqueue rather than a lock.
